Gary’s first BMW was a 320I (try not to hold that against him) and he joined the BMW CCA in 1982. Initially interested in concours events, he won the annual BMW NA open house twice. After participating in his first autocross and driver school the wash-bucket officially went by the wayside. After moving up the ranks and becoming an instructor, racing seemed the next logical step. Gary started in his 2002tii in 1988 and joined Rick Kiceniuks "Last Minute Racing" team shortly thereafter. In 1990 he switched to a BMW 1600 which he campaigned successfully for four seasons. In 1993 the team went all out and built Gary’s M3 to go for an overall win at the Longest Day of Nelson Ledges 24hr. race. If not for an early morning mishap they may have done it. Gary has raced this car ever since, making improvements all along. Gary has also served on the BMW CCA NJ Board as President, V.P., Treasurer, Driving Events Chair and Member At Large. Gary also served as a BMW CCA Club Racing Advisory Committee Member. He is an avid collector of E30 M3 miniatures and literature.
